The Job

In order for these kingdom influencing roles to occur, the E-D of CEO fulfills numerous executive functions. The E-D visits each recipient abroad on a regular basis, and holds regular, ongoing virtual collaborations to discuss their work. With the information gained from these conversations, the E-D ensures that the funds expenditures are mission based. Those tasks include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Ensure that all CEO operations and affiliate ministries are in keeping with the stated mission of CEO (as identified by the Founding and other Board approved documents), and are pursuant to US law as stipulated by IRS code 501(c)(3) and other pertinent governmental entities.
  • Maintain an ongoing and constant awareness of the financial health of CEO and its Ministry Partners so as to address concerns in a timely manner and identify problems before they arise.
  • Serve successive 2-year terms on the CEO Board of Directors as an officer of the Corporation (in accordance with CEO By-Laws), to understand the By-Laws and the historical Board Minutes of CEO, and to work closely with the Chair of the Board to set meetings and agendas.
  • Annually prepare the fiscal year budget in collaboration with Treasurer and oversee the filing of reports to government agencies.
  • Engage in fundraising efforts to ensure that donation revenue meets or exceeds the annual Admin Budget.
  • Annually review performance with members of the Admin Team as outlined on the Administrative Responsibilities Chart.
  • Travel abroad once annually to all Partner ministry sites so as to ensure funds are being used in compliance with CEO’s mission, and pursuant to IRS and other governmental regulations.
  • Maintain contact with Partners in such a way as to discern their well being and how well they are operating with their stated MOU objectives.
  • Develop a cultural understanding and maintain a curiosity about the context of the regions in which CEO serves.
  • Maintain a ministry of coaching and mentoring among Partners and others in ministry.
  • Travel to appropriate conferences and networking events with an eye toward adding Ministry Partners.
