As a member of the executive team and pastoral staff, the Executive Pastor serves the church by providing oversight and leadership related to areas of pastoral ministry and the business affairs of MPC in order to advance the mission of Memorial Park Church to Love People. Qualifications:

  • A vibrant faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • Masters of Divinity/Ordination.
  • Demonstrated expertise in preaching and teaching.
  • Background and proficiency in church administration and personnel management.
  • A “people friendly” personality.
  • Recognize and encourage the strengths of our staff.
  • Work cohesively as part of a team ministry.
  • 10+ years experience in pastoral ministry and/or operational leadership in a non-profit.

Accountability:

  • The Executive Pastor for Ministry reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
  • The Executive and Leadership Teams oversee and implement the work of the church.

Position Details:

  • This is a full-time exempt, ordained position with full benefits as stipulated by the EPC and MPC’s Personnel Handbook.
  • Salary Range $80,000-$100,000 for EPC ordained, depending on experience.
  • The Insurance Package includes full family medical and dental insurance plus life insurance and long-term disability.
  • Retirement Package is a 10% contribution for an EPC ordained pastor and a 6% contribution for all others.
  • Vacation, PTO and study leave annually.

Pastoral Responsibilities:

  • Regularly preaches expository sermons deeply rooted in Scripture, emphasizing practical application to daily life, with an authenticity and humility that appeals to believers and seekers alike.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of worship experiences to ensure effective style, content and structure.
  • Provides biblical teaching to the congregation, enabling attendees to grow in faith drawing ever nearer to God.
  • Shares pastoral responsibilities by assisting with visitations, weddings, funerals and counseling as necessary.
  • Takes time for study, reflection and rest to nurture spiritual growth and health.
  • Works with the Lead Pastor and Session to inspire and develop a compelling vision for the congregation.
  • Oversees Women’s, Men’s, Marriage and Communications Ministries
  • Participation within the Presbytery and General Assembly events

Executive Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Finance function and actively participates in Fiscal Management Committee meetings. Oversees the Accounting Team.
  • Manages the Human Resources function and provides leadership at Personnel Committee meetings.
  • Supervises the Facilities function, including operations, maintenance, and security in cooperation with the Facilities Director.
  • Coordinates the ministry and operations of MPC as a member of the Executive Team.
  • Member of the Leadership Team to oversee the overall ministry alignment of MPC.
  • Accountable for the Church Communications function. Teams with the Director of Communications to ensure messaging to all church members and attendees is effective.
