The Family Ministry Pastor/Director will build, implement, and lead a Family Ministry program to reach and disciple children, youth, and families in our community with the Gospel.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Pray regularly for the children and families of First Baptist Church.
  • Develop relationships with children, youth, and families in the church and in the community.
  • Find opportunities to represent FBC in the community.
  • Direct involvement and oversight of Youth and Children’s ministries.
  • Supervise all volunteers and staff within Youth and Children’s ministries which includes administrative tasks and coaching in both the gospel and job skills.
  • Develop a strategy to equip and engage parents as the primary disciplers of their children.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and appreciate volunteers and staff.
  • Work with the Senior Pastor and Staff to ensure coordination and cohesiveness among the various ministries of FBC.  Attend and present ministry update at the monthly Ministry Team meeting.
  • Responsible for communication related to Family Ministries (email newsletters, social media, videos, Sunday AM announcements).

Potential Major Programs Include:

  • Children’s ministry Sunday mornings.
  • Sunday evening Youth groups.
  • VBS / Summer Bible Camp.
  • Fellowship & Outreach events.
  • Parenting Seminars.

Qualifications
A vibrant personal walk with God having trusted in Christ for salvation.

The ideal candidate would have training and experience in Christian education or discipleship ministries in an Evangelical/Baptist setting. Direct experience with youth and/or children’s ministry is desirable. The Family Ministry Director should have a calling and passion to see families grow as followers of Jesus.
