Grammar School Latin and Technology Teacher (Grades 3-6)

CCA is seeking a full-time Grammar School Latin and Technology teacher. Responsibilities include teaching Latin and Introductory Keyboarding and Technology to students in grades 3-6. This is a Specialist position serving eight different classes. This teacher should have a vision for a Grammar School introductory Latin program that will provide students with a firm foundation for the formal study of Latin beginning in grade 7. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in classics, languages, or a related field, will demonstrate maturity of Christian character, an ability to integrate faith and education, a love for students, and a desire to work with a dedicated team of administrators and teachers.
Qualifications of the successful candidate will include:
- Warmth, sense of humor, and classroom management skills.
- Experiencing working with Grammar School aged children.
- Command of Introductory Latin and Familiar with Elementary level Latin curricula.
- Comfort with an independent school setting.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- High standards of professional conduct.
- Must be willing to sign CCA’s Statement of Faith and Core Values. Must maintain the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model and mentor both in and out of school, to students, parents, fellow faculty members and employees in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living.
Contract runs: September 2024 through June 2024; teaching is on a 10 month cycle.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Position will remain open until filled. Candidate interviews will be scheduled following review of requested material. Position may be filled at anytime through the search process once a desired candidate has been identified.
