Position Summary

This part time role is to be filled on an interim basis with the potential for it to change to a permanent position based on performance and other factors.  The Missions Director (MD) is responsible for the execution of the Mission ministry of Grace Church. The MD should have excellent administrative skills to care for the budget, handle scheduling details and execute plans. They will also have the shepherding heart to care for the missionaries we support as a church through regular interaction, prayer support, and encouragement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership

The MD will work with the Mission Team to lead the Mission ministry of the church by:

• Facilitate the Missions Team meetings monthly to pray, assess needs, and equip team members.
• Create Missionary prayer updates for Mission Prayer Hours twice a month.
• Support and guide the onboarding of new Field worker partnerships, in coordination with the Missions Team.

2. Field Worker Care

The MD will care for the field workers supported by the church by:

• Communicating regularly with the field workers via email, phone calls, and zoom.
• Work through the Mission Team to support visiting missionaries by organizing housing, Life Group visits, Staff lunches, Snack ‘n’ Chats and Sunday service interviews.

3. Short term Trips

The MD will support and encourage short term trips from the church by:

• Coordinate leadership and support for trip leaders, delegating planning, coordination, and team meetings.
• Approve trip timelines and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Facilitating the process of support raising for the team members.
• Coordination with church treasurer to purchase airline tickets and international medical insurance as needed for participants.

4. Partnership Renewals

The MD will work with the Mission team regarding partnership renewal for all field workers and Local Partnerships (LP’s) by:

• Communicating with field workers regarding the timeline and process of renewal. (Every three years for Global workers and one year for LP’s)
• Working and praying with the Mission team to review and evaluate the proposals received while interviewing the field workers/LP’s.
• Working with the Mission team utilizing the partnership matrix to determine if any adjustments need to be made.
• Communicating renewal intentions with the field workers/LP’s by December 31.

5. Additional Responsibilities

The MD will also lead the Mission ministry by:

• Creating and updating Church Center and jot forms used by the mission team, delegating data entry when possible.
• Collaborate annually on the budget with the Mission team.
• Plan and oversee holiday drives (Harvest Outreach & Samaritan’s purse shoe boxes)
