Upon the retirement of its current pastor on December 31, 2024, FCCOE is seeking to fill the position of Interim Pastor, anticipating a search of 6 to 12 months for a permanent pastor.

FCCOE is a Congregational Church affiliated with the CCCC. FCCOE was originally formed in 1683 with a rich history of ministry in the small community of Essex on the North Shore of Boston, as well as service around the world. The FCCOE church family strives for a spirit of humble servant leadership, brotherly/sisterly love, winsome witness, and unity in essentials combined with civility and mutual respect across lines of difference.
Weekly attendance of 50-60.

Responsibility of the Interim:

• Preparing and delivering a weekly sermon.
• Coordinating and organizing the order of worship with the church Administrator and Music Director.
• Administering the sacrament of communion.
• Limited visitation and attendance of committee meetings (negotiable).
• Able to perform baptisms, weddings, and funerals.

Qualifications:

• A degree from a seminary.
• Ordained and/or licensed minister.
• 3 years of experience in interim ministry or pastorate.
• Legally authorized to work in the USA.
