Red Oak Church is seeking an Interim Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and stability during a vital season of transition. This role is key to nurturing the church’s mission of cultivating a Christ-centered, close-knit community that seeks to experience and express the life-changing presence of God in every aspect of life through Jesus Christ.
Position Overview
Location: 337 Piper Road, West Springfield, MA 01089
Service Times: Wednesdays at 6:30 PM; Sundays at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM
Key Responsibilities
Preaching & Teaching: Deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons that engage and challenge the congregation, fostering spiritual growth, deeper understanding, and continuity during the church’s transitional season.
Worship Leadership: Collaborate with the worship leader to plan and lead meaningful services that honor God and inspire the church body—ensuring that worship songs and sermon messages are thoughtfully aligned around shared themes and spiritual focus.
Limited Pastoral Care: Provide compassionate care to church members, including hospital visits and support during times of crisis or loss.
Qualifications
Spiritual Maturity: A deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out biblical principles.
Experience: Proven experience in pastoral ministry, with a heart for preaching, teaching, and shepherding a congregation.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to connect with diverse audiences.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide steady, collaborative leadership that inspires and supports others, fostering a unified and healthy church environment.

Red Oak Church was established through the merger of First Baptist Church of West Springfield and Encountering Ministries. United by a shared vision, we are dedicated to experiencing God in every aspect of life and offering Christ-centered ministries for all ages. We welcome everyone to join us as we live out the tangible reality of Christ’s presence in our lives and community.
Worship services are held on Sundays at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM, with a midweek service on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.
Red Oak Church is located at 337 Piper Road, West Springfield, MA, next to West Springfield High School.
