Redeemer Church (redeemeratl.org) is seeking a Kids Ministry Director (Part-time).
About Redeemer Community Church:
The Vision of Redeemer is “That the Lord’s Kingdom would come, Christ would continue to transform our communities, and through God’s grace, we would grow into men and women who reflect the love of Christ to our neighbors.” As a church located in the heart of English Ave, we seek to be a church “in and for” our local neighborhoods. We are thankful to be a diverse church, both ethnically and socio-economically, and place a high priority on seeking to live out our call to be a healthy Christian community together. On Sunday mornings, we have an attendance of approximately 110-130, with 35-40 of those being children under the age of 12. And the number of children continues to grow!
Position Description:
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter to implement the vision of Redeemer Community Church in the Kids’ Ministry Department. The Redeemer Kids’ Director will provide guidance, leadership, support and pastoral care for children, parents, and volunteers. We are looking for a person who can be a spiritual leader for children from birth through 8th grade. The ideal candidate needs to be organized, have the ability to multi-task, have high energy, be able to effectively teach, be a recognized leader and team builder, able to develop other leaders, be passionate about sharing the Gospel, and have a passion for the community.
This role will be supported by the Redeemer Kids Administrator (part-time). These two roles will work together on many aspects of the Redeemer Kids Ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Pastoral Care (60% of Responsibility)
- Nurture and lead all Redeemer Kids’ staff and volunteers.
- Come alongside Redeemer Kids’ parents and families in the discipleship of their children.
- Teach, care for, nurture, evangelize and disciple children involved with Redeemer Kids.
- Help assist dedications and baptisms of children.
- Coordinate and execute Discipleship groups for children. These groups will either be run by the Redeemer Kids Director or volunteers under her supervision.
- Operational Responsibilities (40% of Responsibility)
- Ensuring Kids Ministry programming is executed at each classroom in accordance with established curriculum, classroom procedures, and child safety policies.
- Responsible for maintaining budgets and operational oversight of all classrooms.
- Promotion and Communication: Direct and oversee communication to parents about upcoming events, in conjunction with our staff.
- Environment Prep: Ensure the physical environment of each classroom and check in station is safe and inviting.
- Work alongside staff to help organize childcare for occasional church-wide events.
- Assist the Worship Director with coordination of Easter and Christmas .programs.
- Attend Staff Meetings
- For your personal growth/maturity, participate in a Small Group, Discipleship group, or weekly Bible Study.
Additional Details:
Open to lay applicants and clergy. Preferred but not required: a bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry child development OR significant experience working or volunteering with a children’s ministry, preferably in a leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
Hard skills:
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Moderate proficiency with scheduling programs. (Preferred) Experience in Planning.
Center Resources:
- Proficient in Word.
Soft skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge, agreement, and adherence to the mission, vision, and core values of Redeemer Community Church.
- Christian lifestyle that is in harmony with clear Biblical standards.
- Handles confidential matters with discretion.
- Self-motivated, independent worker with the leadership skills necessary to engage and lead teams.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Desire to work with members of the church and the community.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels.
- Professional ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
- Team Player with positive, servant-motivated attitude.
- 3 – 5 Years Ministry Experience – paid or volunteer position.
Compensation:
- Part-time, Salary. 20 hours weekly. May include evenings and weekends for various church activities.
- 2 Weeks Paid Vacation.
- Monthly phone stipend.
- Health Stipend.
