PSBC is seeking a spiritually mature and inspiring Lead Pastor to provide pastoral care for our long established, multi-generational, independent (non-affiliated) and financially solvent Baptist church. The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation of biblical knowledge and understanding with a passion to study and teach the Word of God, a love for God’s people and a desire to help them grow spiritually.

He must be able to confidently present the Gospel of Jesus Christ through his preaching, teaching, discipleship and demonstrate a commitment to continued spiritual and professional growth and development. Sunday sermons are a high priority.

The quintessential candidate is a natural spiritual mentor, wholly dedicated to God, his family, and the church, be loving to all and approachable by every generation.

Our congregation is praying for a man who knows he is being called by God to lead a small-town church located in south central Maine. PSBC has been in continual operation since its inception in the mid-1800’s. We offer a contemporary service with a live worship band.

About Mechanic Falls, Maine

Nestled in-between the small towns of Minot and Poland, Mechanic Falls is a quaint little former mill town. Located about 15 minutes from the nearest city, Auburn and about 45 minutes from Maine’s largest city, Portland. Our tri-town community offers a small-town feel with local restaurants and nearby attractions. These include Lost Valley Ski Resort, Goss Berry Farm, Wallingford’s Apple Orchard, public beaches and boat access at Range Pond State Park and Tripp Lake, as well as easy access to ATV and snowmobile trails. The area has many bodies of water as well as golf courses. Mechanic Falls has several community events throughout the year, with parades games and food. • Must have a solid marriage (if married) and a well-ordered family that can complement the demands of the ministry.

Education

• Seminary degree preferred.
• 2+ years ministerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• To prepare and present doctrinally sound Biblical preaching and teaching.
• To receive God’s vision for the church and communicate it effectively.
• To provide leadership and develop leaders to carry out the vision and mission of the church without fear of making changes.
• Willing to counsel, exhort and admonish when needed.
• Effectively utilize church leadership to improve ministries.
