Pastoral Duties and Responsibilities

• The Pastor shall be in charge of the spiritual welfare of the congregation.
• The Pastor shall have in his care the worship of the congregation.
• The Pastor shall preach the truth as it is revealed to him and perform such other duties which shall serve the spiritual needs of the church.
• The Pastor shall be an ex-officio member of the Church Board and of all elected boards and committees.
• The Pastor will provide a monthly report to the Church Board.
• The Pastor will provide an annual report for the Church annual meeting.
• The Pastor shall visit all members in Nursing Homes and members that are homebound as requested. Communion shall be given as requested.
• The Pastor shall visit all members that are in hospitals and provide spiritual care as requested. These members shall be visited at home after release from the Hospital as requested.
• The Pastor shall work with the Church Treasurer/Secretary by providing the necessary items needed for the weekly church bulletin and provide the information no later than Thursday morning.
• The Pastor will provide to the Church Treasurer a monthly summary of mileage used for church business by identifying mileage to each location visited for reimbursement at current Federal guidelines.
• The Pastor will meet with the Executive Committee as requested.
• The Pastor shall be a Godly example to the church.
• The Pastor shall perform Weddings and Funerals as requested and approved by the Church Board.
• The Pastor shall lead weekly Bible Study as requested.
• The Pastor shall provide guidance in Christian education.
• The Pastor shall work with the Music Committee Director in selecting music that aligns with the weekly sermon.
