The Pastor who is called should be a loving individual who is mission minded, approachable and available. This person should be someone who has a passion to encourage the spiritual
growth of the congregation through solid biblical teaching and preaching and can help us reach the unchurched people in our community. We are looking for someone who has good communication skills, takes time to listen, and enjoys interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, as well as someone who can thrive in a rural agricultural community with city amenities located nearby.
Specifically, our next Pastor would be:
Worship
- Committed to building a disciple making culture that is obedient to the Great Commission.
- Committed to growing the church in depth over volume.
- Is committed to personal prayer, study and emotional/spiritual growth.
- Ordained by ECO or eligible for ECO ordination, and upholds his/her ordination vows, is consistent in preaching and teaching with Biblical principles and is consistent with ECO’s tenets, confession and polity.
- Is an energetic, creative communicator, able to craft and deliver biblical and relevant sermons that effectively speak to both new and maturing Christians.
Management
- Will embrace the multifaceted nature of being a solo pastor in a rural community.
- Continue to lead and direct people who are actively involved in the ministry of the church.
- Is a team player who empowers, encourages, and makes prayerful decisions.
- An effective evangelist, passionate about community outreach and sharing the Gospel.
- Possesses strong strategic and management skills that build trust among staff, leadership and the congregation.
- Is a spiritual leader, head of staff, and primary steward of the biblical and theological integrity, mission, vision and message for the Session, staff and congregation.
- Maintain regular communication and coordination with the Presbytery.
Pastoral Care
- Relational and compassionate.
- Provide the needed support for the ministries that address the needs of the people.
- Exhibits an eagerness to become part of the community and to understand its culture and the challenges it faces.
Compensation
Compensation: Our compensation package includes cash salary payment range between $35,000-$47,000 per year. Medical Insurance for the Pastor and Family, Retirement contributions, a 3000 square foot Manse in Lemon Cove, 4 weeks’ vacation per year accrued at 1 week (including Sundays) each 3 months, and 1-week personal study time annually.
