Dear Applicant:

Greetings.  We are happy that you are considering the opportunity to join the team of staff here at Wasilla Bible Church (WBC).  We are always excited to walk through the hire process of bringing new team members on.  Watching the Lord grow and direct the team of workers here in the church is a humbling process.  Through the years we have watched staff come and go, all directed and placed by our Lord.

Our prayer throughout this process, as you consider this opportunity, is that the Lord would raise up a team dedicated to excellence in support of His ministry of making disciples through this body of believers at WBC.

May you prayerfully consider the direction the Lord would have you go.  If you so choose to knock on this door, please review the enclosed Adult Ministry annual ministry plan, Men’s Adult Minister job description, Core Commitments, and Statement of Faith.  These documents establish the basic expectations and responsibilities for you if you are selected to be a part of this team as the Men’s Adult Minister.  Please submit your resume, the enclosed Core Commitments and Statement of Faith document signed by yourself, and the two reference forms found in this packet completed by a non-family member.  The application submission deadline is set for May 5th.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this position.  We look forward to walking through this process with you.  May the Lord guide each of us for the good of all involved, the building up of His Church, and for the sake of His glory being made known both locally and globally through His Church.

Location, Church, and Ministry Overview

Wasilla Bible Church (WBC) is an established church located in Wasilla, Alaska.  Wasilla is approximately an hour drive north of the largest and most populated city in Alaska, Anchorage.  Wasilla sits within the Matanuska-Susitna Borough (the “Valley”) that is made up of other towns, including Sutton, Palmer, Wasilla, Big Lake, Houston, Willow, and Talkeetna.  This area is roughly the size of West Virginia and is home to just over 100,000 people spread throughout.

WBC has been gathered and serving in this area for just under 50 years.  We gather on Sundays with a worship attendance of approximately 650 adults and 200 kids/students.  As an established church, our demographics range from toddlers to seniors, with the bulk of the church made up of families with kids.  The culture at WBC is one of faithfulness and consistency as we endeavor to live lives of witness individually, congregationally, and in partnership with other churches locally and globally to further the praise of Jesus by making disciples.

The role of the Adult Minister is first and foremost to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.  At the core of our Adult Ministry is our Community Groups.  We currently have thirty-six Community Groups led by members of WBC that meet at various times of the week throughout the Valley.  These groups are focused on living out our Core Commitments and lives of witness together.  Groups gather around a meal, engage in God’s Word together, and pray for one another.

On the next pages you will find the standard ministry plan for our current Adult Ministry that informs the Men’s Adult Minister job description. Both documents detail the overall scope of work the Adult Minister is to oversee with specific objectives and responsibilities we are seeking to accomplish this year. If you have any questions as you review the information provided in this hire packet, please reach out to Sarah Beaudry at [email protected] and she will help either answer your questions or connect you with someone who can.
