About Us: We are a warm, welcoming medium-sized congregation seeking to deepen our faith in Christ as we embody and proclaim God’s word through our heads, hearts, and hands locally and beyond. Our commitment to Christ-centered, Scripture-based, outward-focused ministry drives everything we do. With a growing number of children and a devoted choir, we recognize the need for an exceptional individual to lead our music and student ministries.

Position Overview: We are excited to invite applications for the role of Music and Student Ministries Director. This position is a unique blend of creativity, leadership, collaboration, and service. The successful candidate will work closely with our dedicated leadership team, including our pastor, to foster spiritual growth, inspire worship, and build up the body of Christ.

Responsibilities:

  • Music Ministry:
    • Collaborate with our pastor to curate music that exalts Christ and resonates with our church community.
    • Lead and accompany the choir during Sunday worship services (from after Labor Day through the first Sunday of June) and special occasions (e.g., Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday).
    • Provide music for worship services while the choir is on break (second Sunday in June through Labor Day).
    • Coordinate and lead choir rehearsals, creating a worshipful atmosphere that draws people closer to God and emphasizes service over performance.
    • Enrich our worship services by tapping into the musical talents of our church community.
    • We welcome candidates with experience directing a bell choir, but this is not required.
  • Student Ministries:
    • Foster an environment where students can come to personally know Christ, understand the gospel, and find joy in obeying God.
    • Cultivating among students meaningful relationships within the church community.
    • Equip students with the ability to read, understand, and apply the Bible.
    • Coordinate children and youth ministry programs, lead and support our team of dedicated volunteer teachers and helpers, assist the pastor with Confirmation Classes, and organize a one-week annual community-wide Vacation Bible School.
    • Enhance our existing ministry by developing small groups that foster authentic connections, crafting family events that strengthen our church body, and facilitating mission trips and projects—both locally and beyond.
    • Walk alongside parents, offering guidance in addressing common challenges their children may encounter and equipping them with gospel-centered parenting resources.
    • Mentor and guide young hearts toward a deeper relationship with Christ.

Qualifications:

  • A love for God, a heart for ministry, and a passion for music and youth.
  • Demonstration of spiritual maturity and willingness to grow.
  • Proficiency in directing choirs and playing a musical instrument.
  • Proficiency in student ministry or a willingness to be trained.
  • Good at community outreach and recruitment.
  • Strong organizational skills and a collaborative personality.
  • Have you ever dreamed of playing the pipe organ? Or perhaps you’re already skilled in this instrument? Either way, we welcome you to apply. (Preferred but not mandatory).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music, theology, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience in church ministry (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Commitment to our church’s mission, beliefs, and values.

Location: Our church sits right in the heart of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon region, with small-town vibes, great schools, and a delightful blend of scenic beauty, history, and warm hospitality. You’ll find plenty to do, from hiking trails, fishing spots, community music events, parades, festivals, and so much more.

How To Apply

Application Process: If you feel called to serve in this capacity, we invite you to apply. Please submit your resume, a cover letter expressing your passion for music and ministry, and any relevant samples (e.g., worship recordings, youth program outlines).
