1st Presbyterian Church in Monte Vista, CO is a rural congregation in a small town of 4500 people. Common sights are potatoes, cows and pivots.  The church is situated in the middle of the town and has huge potential for being the center of ministry for a wide variety of causes.  Other organizations and churches have partnered with 1st Pres. and look forward to doing more together. Current attendance is between 40 and 50 every Sunday. They have an active choir, children’s ministry and a small but enthusiastic youth ministry.  1st Pres. was one of the first churches to pull out of the PCUSA and join ECO.

Currently, 1st Pres. is in a transitional period but is anxious to get on with life. They have much to offer. Housing is provided next door to the church. The stately Manse is in the process of renovation and will be a beautiful showplace for the next pastor.

The church is also undergoing some repair.  It is known as “The Stone Church with a Warm Heart.”  The Website is under construction, so please be patient. Check our posts on Instagram and Facebook.

Close by are the Great Sand Dunes, Pagosa Springs, the Collegiate Mountain Range and hundreds of hiking, camping, hunting and fishing opportunities.
