Calvary Baptist Church of Loch Sheldrake has prayerfully begun the process of seeking Gods replacement for our pastor.

We are in the heart of Sullivan County NY, surrounded by the lovely rolling hills of the Catskills. Our church is located on picturesque lake Loch Sheldrake, in the Village of Loch Sheldrake, and the township of Fallsburg, NY.

Our church is in good condition and is debt free. We are an Independent Fundamental Baptist church. Calvary Baptist Church is a Bible believing, gospel preaching Church, committed to faithfully proclaiming God’s truths from the Bible. The original church structure is 160 years old, which was more than doubledin 2001 when put on a two story expansion.
With a year round population of over 80,000 souls; our summer visitors make that number swell exponentially making this area excellent for evangelism. With projections for this year reaching nearly 4 times as much, the fields are ripe for harvest. The area boasts many recreational opportunities such as; sightseeing, hiking, running, fishing, boating, hunting and many more.

Our beloved pastor of 40 years is now retiring in December of 2025.

Our congregation seeks a bi-vocational pastor to lead, oversee, and shepherd the flock of this independent Baptist Church. We worship with a mix of hymns and contemporary music. We are not a King James only church.

CBC has 25-40 in attendance regularly with a blessed mix of children as well. We hold Awana Clubs weekly on Fridays and Youth group meets monthly. We also have VBS yearly.
We seek to fulfill the great commission; so prayerfully and by the power of the Holy Spirit we are seeking a shepherd to lead this flock. This man of God should be equipped to fulfill the duties of a pastor according to scripture (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1; Ephesians 4; & Matthew 18).

Specific expectations are to organize and lead the church. To teach Sunday school lessons and to deliver the Word of God in Sunday morning sermons. Leading music is a plus. He should be able to facilitate and ensure the other services and ministries are done and/or equip qualified volunteers to take part in the growth of our church.

We are seeking a pastor who holds to the Biblical doctrines of the faith and who exhibits the fruits of the Spirit in the way he leads. A pastor who agrees with our church doctrine and who can evangelize and disciple others as well as equipping the congregation to do the same.

CBC is seeking someone to partner with us to spark revival in our community and regrow our congregation. He would do this through:
• Equipping the saints in the Word through preaching, teaching, and discipleship.
• Exciting the church to be a 100% participant outreach ministry.
• Enabling the church to be participatory in God’s Commission.
“For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” In addition to Ephesians 4, we are a small church that has been praying for revitalization. We need someone who is excited at the opportunity to help grow a congregation, help reach the local community, and continue our strong missions’ heart. Our congregation has a strong desire to grow under God’s grace and God’s choice of a pastor to lead us.

We can currently offer a part-time salary of ($35,000) with increases possible as the church expands. It is our goal for the pastor position to grow into a full-time position fully supported by the church.
