Thriving in Ministry Residency Program
The Residency Program is a short-term, intensive program designed to provide practical experience in pastoral ministry hosted, guided, and supervised by a seasoned pastor-mentor in a local church.
The twelve-week residency will provide hands-on ministry experience for a student transitioning from Seminary to pastoral work where there will be opportunities for:
- Learning.
- Growing.
- Practicing ministry skills.
- Establishing healthy habits for personal growth and pastoral leadership.
Each resident will collaborate with a mentor to design an experience that will provide equipping and training in the following areas:
- Spiritual formation of a pastor.
- Personal life of a pastor (self-care, home, family, marriage).
- Preaching and teaching.
- Worship preparation and leading.
- Leadership and team building.
- Church organization and administration.
- Pastoral care.
- Special service planning and leading.
The Pastoral Residencies are in various locations and, through the application process, residents will be placed in a local church with a pastor-mentor.
