Our mission is to train pastors for the global church with a particular emphasis on serving indigenous church networks in regions around the world where Biblical, theological and ministry training are not otherwise accessible.

Carey is looking for a mission hearted regional director of training to help oversee our pastoral training centers on either the African or Asian continent.  The position will be based in North America and requires 4-5 international trips each year.  We are looking Biblically qualified, academically credentialed men (MDiv or above), who have 10 years or more Pastoral experience.  While in North America you would be engaged in curriculum development and writing projects for Carey as well as in representing the organization throughout your region. We are Reformed in our theology, upholding the five “Solas,” and subscribe to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith, but also welcome similarly convicted brothers to participate in this exciting ministry.

In this role you will be required to develop your own personal support network. Since this is a support raised role, it would be a good fit for a returning missionary who is looking to continue to engage in field ministry while also serving as part of USA or Canada based team, or an experienced pastor with international travel and support raising experience.

Qualifications

  • Vibrant faith in Jesus Christ.
  • 10+ years of Pastoral ministry experience.
  • Meet character qualifications of a local church elder (1 Tim 3:2-7).
  • Ability to teach.
  • Adherence to one or more of the historic creeds of the Reformed Tradition: The Westminster Confession of Faith, the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dordt, the First or Second Helvetic Confessions and/or Second London Confession of 1689.”
  • Agreement with the vision and strategy of Carey International Pastoral Training.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically including to locations with limited amenities.
  • Masters level degree or higher in Theology from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee training centers, teaching team and local coordinators in assigned region.
  • Explore and evaluate potential future training locations in assigned region.
  • Together with Carey team, develop, update and evaluate training curriculum.
  • Promote and champion the vision of Carey.
  • Travel overseas 4-5 times a year to train pastors in modular course settings.
  • Establish relationships with church leaders and potential ministry partners.
  • Perform research and writing projects for Carey.
  • Aid the President in the implementation of the vision of Carey.

Travel Expectations

  • 4-5 International trips a year (Approx 10 weeks).
  • 10-12 days a year domestic travel for conferences and meetings.

Compensation

  • Compensation will be agreed upon hire.  This is a fundraised/missionary support position.
