The Big Picture

True Hope Downtown (truehopedowntown.com) is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor.

The Church

As a church we are striving to be a multiplying community of people transformed by the Gospel, devoted to God’s Word, committed in community, and relentless in prayer UNTIL our families, our neighbors, our city, and our world know that Jesus is True Hope. We are affiliated with Mission Northwest, and we are associated with 135 churches in the Northwest. As a church we have been deeply committed to missions. We have planted from scratch, rescued from dying and significantly participated in starting 8 churches in the last 70 years. Most have been in the last 15 years.

We are a giving church, and we prioritize changing the world with our resources. We are a church that is known for how well we love people and meet real needs in our community. We always ask ourselves, if True Hope disappeared tomorrow would our community notice a change or loss? Through our time, skill sets and resources, we believe living generously is the avenue through which God can use us to change the world.

Instead of building our own little kingdom we believe strongly in creating partnership with organizations that are working among different people groups.

Presently, we have two Sunday services (9:00 am and 10:30 am). Sunday attendance 456 (of which some watch online) Pre-Covid attendance was 464

True Hope has many small groups for men, women, couples and seniors. There is also a strong emphasis on helping people take the next step in their Christian journey through our process of Connect lunch, baptism, small groups and ’and a 10-week life-changing group experience call “Rooted”.

The Candidate

The Senior Pastor is the primary leader of True Hope Church Downtown and works to ensure that the mission, vision, and core values of the church are lived out in our congregation. The Senior Pastor is responsible for providing spiritual guidance, care, and instruction to the congregation, unbelievers, and the community. The Senior Pastor oversees all regular services, is responsible for the spiritual welfare of the church, and provides leadership in all areas of church life.

The Qualifications

• Meet qualifications as set forth in I Timothy 3:1-5 and Titus 1:5-9.
• Have a minimum of a Seminary Degree.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills.
• Be an effective leader.
• Demonstrate administrative and management skills.
• Provide a role-model for members of the congregation, staff and community.
• Have teaching and public speaking skills.
