About the Senior Pastor:

West Wyomissing Chapel is searching for a Senior Pastor who will provide leadership, oversight, care, and biblical teaching to the ministries and people attending The Chapel. The Senior Pastor’s role helps the church to pursue full devotion to Jesus Christ.

West Wyomissing Chapel Worship

The Senior Pastor’s Responsibilities Include: 

  • Oversee the congregation’s life of worship in preaching, teaching, counseling, administration, leadership, mentoring, evangelism, care, shepherding, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Strengthen a sense of community with our people by attending church-sponsored events.
  • Help us become a stronger presence as a church in our community.
  • Provide biblical counseling when the need arises.
  • Be available to perform weddings and funerals, as well as do hospital visitation when appropriate.
  • Serve with the Elders to provide oversight to the Chapel’s mission and vision.
  • Along with the Elders provide oversight to the full and part-time staff.
  • Must fully endorse and defend the Biblical doctrines as stated in The Chapel’s Constitution.
  • Attend all Board of Elder Meetings.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as the Elders deem necessary.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of Senior Pastoral experience.
  • 10+ years of ministry experience, preferred.
  • Bible college or seminary degree, required.
  • Master’s degree, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of the Scriptures.
  • Strong communicator, teaching in a way that leads to life change.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Possess the ability to communicate, relate to, and empathize with staff as well as church attendees and the surrounding community.
  • Able to approach ministry situations with humility, discernment, and compassion, along with a spirit of cooperation and willingness to serve on a team.
  • Desires to grow and develop, both spiritually and professionally.
