Job Description: Solo Pastor – First Presbyterian Church, Yorktown, Texas

About the Position: First Presbyterian Church, Yorktown, seeks a full-time Solo Pastor to serve as a spiritual leader, shepherd, teacher, and servant. The Pastor will be responsible for leading worship services, conducting weekly lessons/sermons, administering sacraments, promoting Christian education, providing pastoral care, and supporting mission/evangelism efforts.

 Responsibilities:

1. Worship: Prepare and conduct weekly lessons/sermons, lead worship and special services, and administer sacraments.
2. Discipleship: Collaborate with the Session to promote Christian education, preaching, teaching, and interpretation of Scripture.
3. Pastoral Care: Be available to the congregation in times of rejoicing, illness, bereavement, and emergencies. Visit hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins, and provide pre-marital counseling, officiate weddings and funerals.
4. Mission/Evangelism: Support, promote, and articulate the current mission of the church to the congregation and community.
5. Administration: Work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operations, including recordkeeping.

 Staff Overview:

• Regular Full-Time (Salaried): Solo Pastor
• Part-Time: Secretary (20 hours a week), Organist/Pianist (2 Sundays), Janitor and Lawncare
• Volunteer: Music Director

Salary: $50,000-$80,000
