Role:
The role of the Student Director is to go and find, radically love, and disciple students! This role will be responsible to galvanize volunteers who love Jesus and want to be another person of influence for students in 5th-12th grade to help them find and follow Him. They will also partner with parents to help them grow as the primary disciple-makers of their students. This is a full time role, Multi-Site High School & SouthPark Middle Grades.

This position requires a person of spiritual maturity who is highly relational, self-motivated and a flexible team player.

• Evangelistic in nature, willing to go and find students and disciple them.
• Dynamic visionary who can help craft an effective discipleship ministry model and implement it.
• Excellent ability to partner with parents and build a team of leaders for maximum effectiveness.
• Passionately committed to the compelling mission of New City to help people find and follow Jesus.

Professional Competencies:

• Require 5+ years of experience in leading a student ministry.
• Experience in 1:1 student discipleship.
• Proven ability to collaboratively create a ministry model and implement it across a complex volunteer-led organization.

Responsibilities: 
As the Student Director – South Park, your role is what we describe as an 80/20 role, this means:

The role is 80% being with students, volunteers, and parents through shepherding, development, and team involvement.

• Discipling students
• Recruiting, training, empowering, and coaching volunteers, and parents to disciple students.
• Participate in New City life outside of NextGen to know the people of New City and be an active member of the body.
  • Serve as a healthy role model of leadership, sharing the grace of Jesus.
  • Collaborate on a team of teams by participating on the following teams.
    • The All NextGen team with NextGen staff from all locations.
    • The designated location team and all staff team.

The role is 20% administrative responsibilities:

• Environment ownership for Sunday mornings and evenings.
• Event, camp and retreat planning and ownership.
• Ownership of all administrative responsibilities for anything related to student ministry at South Park.
  • Engage in other areas on the team as needed.

New City NextGen Framework: The New City NextGen team operates to help kids and students find and follow Jesus.  Giving them a place to belong in God’s family and be known. Helping them to discover their identity is found in who Jesus says they are. Teaching God\’s truth and helping them apply it to their daily lives and preparing them to be sent out on purpose to share Jesus.
