Our Story – Redemption Hill Church launched in 2011. We are a growing, multi-ethnic church located in Medford, MA (four miles north of downtown Boston). Our passion is to help people follow Jesus in all of life and see God’s kingdom come “in Boston as in heaven.” We do this as a worshiping community that connects on Sundays and in Groups. Guided by the Word and empowered by the Spirit, we equip people to serve God’s mission from New England to the Nations.

Pipeline Level: Director
Reports To: The Student Director reports to the Pastor overseeing Next Gen Ministries.

Vision for Role

As a part of the RHC Staff Team, the Student Director will provide visionary leadership for Redemption Students (6^th – 12^th grades). Coming alongside of parents, this ministry exists to help maturing teenagers become disciples who make disciples within their homes, schools, teams, communities, and the life of RHC.

Pre-requisites

• A growing, Spirit-filled follower of Jesus.
• A committed member of RHC (after hire).
• Experience in leading and working with students.
• Knowledge of Scripture and a like-minded philosophy of family ministry.
• Experience in developing and training a leadership team.
• Able to form, communicate, and execute a vision for ministry growth.
• Positive can-do attitude, excellent people skills and the ability to work with various teams and staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and Lead a Weekly Student Group Aimed at Reaching and Equipping Students
  • Organize an engaging experience that facilitates spiritual and relational growth.
  • Ensure that this experience is safe and inviting with appropriate ratios.
  • Oversee the scheduling and communication with your team and parents.
• Work with the Pastors to introduce students/families to Jesus and help them grow in Christ
  • Identify strategies to connect new students to this ministry.
  • Follow up for First Time Guests on Sundays.
  • Follow up with those interested in learning more about Redemption Students.
  • Follow up with students who commit to follow Jesus for the first time.
  • Follow up with students who’ve expressed a desire for baptism.
  • Spend time weekly with students in evangelism and discipleship.
  • Equip parents and guardians to serve as the primary disciple-makers of our students.
• Execute strategic visionary leadership of Redemption Students
  • Execute strategic planning through the StratOp Process (retreat, AIP, calendar).
  • Propose and oversee the Redemption Students Financial Ministry Plan (aka budget).
• Oversee and execute the Redemption Students leadership pipeline
  • Build and lead a Student Ministry Team.
  • Recruit, develop and celebrate Team Participants & Leaders through intentional training
• Serve Redemption Hill Church
  • Support the vision and leadership of Redemption Hill.
  • Contribute to scheduled Staff Meetings and fulfill Staff Covenant.
  • Contribute to church-wide events and other projects.
  • Make disciples and meet other needs as agreed upon with the Pastors.

Commitment

Our preference is for the Student Director to commit to at least 2 years in this role, with a preference for 3 or more to maximize ministry impact.

Time Investment

The Student Director will typically serve 10 hrs/week on average (with seasonal adjustments based on the church calendar). Healthy rhythms of work and rest expected.

Compensation

This Staff role is a part-time paid position, 10hr/wk (paid bi-weekly) with prorated vacation and professional expenses as determined by our annual Financial Ministry Plan. No other benefits implied. There is an opportunity to fundraise for this role in order to grow it beyond 10 hours/week.
