Located in Bozeman, Montana, Springhill Presbyterian Church (SPC) is a church to call home where relationships flourish, generations connect, neighbors are loved…for the glory of God. Bozeman is a growing city, attracting people from all over the country. As we grow alongside our city, we are about building intentional and authentic community in Christ.

Springhill’s Student Ministry is made up of approximately thirty middle and high school students. Our students come from various schools throughout the Gallatin Valley, but they find their unity in Christ. They love to eat, they love to play games, but mostly they love the Lord and each other. We’re praying for a leader that can shepherd our student’s 6th-12th grade in coordination with our Student Ministry Leadership Team.

 Supervision:

  • The Student Ministry Director reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
  • The Student Ministry Director will meet regularly with Staff, the Student Ministry Deacon, and Student Ministry Team.

  • We pray for someone who wants to see youth come to know the Lord and grow in faith, who is able to create a fun and welcoming environment, who will provide engaging teaching by applying the Bible to daily life, and who can build relationships with parents. We pray for someone who is a coachable leader, excited to work alongside others for the cause of Christ, and a self-starter who excels in communication and organizational skills. We pray for someone who loves Jesus and whose love is contagious. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Student Ministry/Administration:
    • Responsible for planning Sunday night Youth Group and developing new ministry opportunities for students.
    • Works with the Student Ministry Team to select curriculum and teaching topics for the year.
    • Works with the Student Ministry Deacon to plan service opportunities for students.
    • Works with the Student Ministry Team to plan and lead mission trips and retreats.
    • Recruits new members to the Student Ministry Team and works to train, equip, and appreciate the team for ministry.
    • Works with the Communications Director to keep students and parents updated about the schedule, events, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Staff/Ministry Team:
    • Attend weekly Tuesday morning staff meetings.
    • Meet bi-weekly with the Lead Pastor to discuss ministry, receive coaching, and pray for students and families.
    • Meet with the Student Ministry Team monthly.
    • Participate in continuing education events yearly.
  • Student Outreach:
    • Participate in the lives of our students by attending their extracurricular events.
    • Participate in local youth ministries to build connections with others who are engaging students with the gospel.
    • Work with the Student Ministry Team to establish a strategic plan for engaging local youth who do not know Christ.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Adherence to the evangelical faith, demonstrated in his/her spiritual walk.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, Christian education, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Three years’ experience working in a student ministry setting is desired.
  • Self-starter who can set and achieve goals.
  • Empathetic, intuitive decision-making.
  • Skills in organization, multi-tasking, problem-solving, task orientation (i.e. results-driven), and empowerment, combined with relational ability.
  • Extroverted countenance, comfortable communication with students and parents.
  • Ability to work with a teachable heart, good attitude, flexibility, and unity.
  • Joyful sense of humor.
  • Spiritual gifts of leadership and teaching are required.
