The candidate will primary focus on working with the church’s youth group, students ages 14-19, who are part of our English congregation. Ministry will occur mainly on Sundays through teaching Sunday school and leading Bible lessons, but also through weekly youth group gatherings, which may include elements such as fellowship meetings, outdoor sporting activities, or small groups for mentorship. Approximate weekly time commitment is 20 hours. The candidate should also be able to work closely with staff and the board of deacons, both of which include members of our Chinese congregation. Fluency in the English language is a must, oral and written. Chinese language skill would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.

Requirements:

• Theologically consistent with EBCC’s confession of Faith and Vision.
• Recent graduate of, or currently studying in a Master’s Degree program from ATS, The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.
• Youth Ministry experience and service or leadership at a church, college fellowship, and/or other Christian parachurch organization.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bible Teaching skill/experience.
• Discipleship skill/experience.
• Experience with Asian-American culture.
• Interest in sports and athletics.
• Ability in singing, guitar, and/or piano.

Primary Responsibilities of a part-time minister :

• To Equip, educate, and edify the youth by praying for and protecting the spiritual integrity of the church and the preaching & teaching ministry.
• To partner with Church Council in the teaching/vision ministry for the youth group.
• To train in and learn pastoral care and counseling ministries with youth and their parents.
• To participate in the broader community life of EBCC.
• To greet and follow up with newcomers of the youth group.
• Weekly time commitment is approximately 20 hours.
