With more than 25 members of our church in junior high and high school and many more rising into that age group in the years to come, ministry to and with youth is a significant priority for our church. We are seeking a Youth Minister whose primary responsibility will be to nurture our youth in relationship with God, each other, and with our local church body; equipping them for the work of ministry as disciples of Jesus Christ as they move through adolescence.

Position Description
With more than 25 members of our church in junior high and high school and many more rising into that age group in the years to come, ministry to and with youth is a significant priority for our church. We are seeking a Youth Minister whose primary responsibility will be to nurture our youth in relationship with God, each other, and with our local church body; equipping them for the work of ministry as disciples of Jesus Christ as they move through adolescence.

Compensation
This is a part-time position with benefits and a salary commensurate with the position and experience. We are open to discussing other needs of the church and how these responsibilities might combine with them for a more full-time position. We also hope to see the role as Youth Minister grow into a more full time position.

Qualifications
It is expected that the Youth Minister:

  • Has an intimate relationship with Christ, reflected in a vibrant and disciplined devotional life.
  • Is committed to living the Christian life in word and deed which will be reflected in their lifestyle, their commitment to their faith, and in giving of their time and money to love God and others.
  • Takes seriously the centrality of prayer, as it demonstrates personal dependence on the Lord to work in their life for her or his own sanctification and the faithfulness of ministry.
  • Cherishes Holy Scripture as containing all things necessary to salvation.
  • Is a confident and consistent self-starter who values team ministry.
  • Has a strong work ethic and high capacity for productivity.
  • Models sexual purity and is committed to living above reproach in all relationships.
  • Is committed to integrity as a member of our staff team, specifically, to be responsible to fulfill all commitments and to work through any conflict with humility and goodwill.
  • Has completed or is in the process of completing a seminary degree (either the MA or the MDiv).
  • Values and feels at home within the Anglican tradition and the Anglican Church of North America.
  • Holds doctrine which is consistent with that described in the Catholic Creeds (Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian), the Fundamental Declarations of the Province, the Jerusalem Declaration, and the theological convictions and canons of the Diocese of Christ Our Hope.
