South Shore Community Church is seeking a part-time Youth Director to bring vision, leadership, enthusiasm, and passion to youth ministry that encourages discipleship and advancement of the Christian faith through fun and age-appropriate experiences. The Youth Director will create individual and gathered environments where discipleship is prioritized; where an individual’s spiritual, physical and emotional well-being are valued and encouraged; and where a foundation of faith is built and supported to remain beyond high school. This includes building and equipping a vibrant, committed and purposeful volunteer team, providing pastoral care as and when needed, and organizing and leading youth events, trips and retreats.
This position reports to the Senior Pastor and presents an excellent opportunity for an individual to join a vibrant staff team with opportunity for training and development. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and has experience doing so, and has strong communication skills, especially in a youth context. Biblical literacy is important, and a college degree is preferred but not essential. Flexible hours will be required.
