Description of Little Saigon Youth Group, written by a current volunteer Youth Leader

The goal of Little Saigon Youth is to form meaningful relationships that support kids through life’s challenges. Their relationships to God, the leaders, and each other are what the events and messages are built around. This is accomplished by having fun events where kids can be themselves and connect with others. We try to facilitate worship and lessons that lead to meaningful conversations that tackle difficult questions. Most of the kids who attend weekly events come from church familiar families, but we know that they are all at different places in their faith journeys. An important goal of the leaders is that each youth feels welcomed and accepted. Ultimately, we want them to encounter the gospel of Jesus and know that he is our Savior and he loves us. So much of this is achieved through the team of volunteers. They do an excellent job of being honest about themselves, present for the youth, and dedicated to their own growth in Christ. The volunteers give so much of themselves to the ministry, and they are excited to receive support and guidance as they lead. Many of them are young adults from the congregation but a few are also teens from the youth group. Discipling youth is an important part of what we do, and we hope that it leads to those same kids discipling others in their lives.
