Amber Congregational Church
Amber Congregational Church seeks a full-time Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care and who will:
- Act as both a spiritual and organizational leader, seeking guidance from God regarding the Church’s direction and vision,
- Shepherd the congregation and leadership teams with a passion for God’s people and His work,
Inspire, influence, and challenge the spiritual wellbeing of the congregation, so that the Church may glorify God, - Demonstrate passion for Jesus and His kingdom with a heart for evangelism and service, leading others to a deeper walk with our Lord,
- Prepare and lead Gospel-centered worship services and oversee spiritual discipleship through Bible studies and Sunday school,
- Provide pastoral care such as hospital and home visits, counseling, as well as officiating at weddings, funerals, and baptisms
- Advise and further the efforts of the Elders, Trustees, and Directors of Worship, Christian Education, and Outreach,
- Help identify and develop the gifts and talents of the congregation.
- Fulfill key administrative responsibilities including leading Elders’ meetings, and participating in Trustees’ meetings, and
- Participate in the network of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference and build relationships with local churches.
Preferred Qualifications – Education, Training, Abilities and Experience
- BA in Theology or related educational field from an accredited college
- Five years of pastoral experience and a commitment to sound Biblical doctrine,
- Possess effective planning, organizational, relationship and communication skills, and
- Meet the New Testament requirements for the office (e.g., Titus 1:6-9, 1 Peter 5:2-4, and James 1:27).
About Amber Congregational Church
The Church was established in 1824 and is in the rural community of Amber NY on Otisco Lake (in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York, south of Syracuse). The Church is affiliated with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. It includes a sanctuary with capacity for 110 worshippers, office, conference room, kitchen, library, and Sunday school areas. The Church operates on a debt-free budget.
Total Compensation Package
Monetary Salary: $50,000 to $65,000 per year, dependent upon experience and qualifications (includes wages, paid time-off, and can be allocated to cover Medical, Dental, Vision, and Retirement plans at the candidate’s discretion), and
Non-Monetary Benefit: Residential use of the parsonage valued at: $22,000 per year (includes utilities). The parsonage is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with an outbuilding located within walking distance of the Church.
Total Compensation: $72,000 to $87,000 / annually.
