English Pastor
Position Overview
We are seeking a pastor who loves God, proclaims His Word faithfully, and is called to shepherd, disciple, and equip the body of Christ. This full-time pastoral position reports to the Board of Elders and works collaboratively with pastoral staff across all three congregations. The second English Pastor will initially serve alongside our current English Pastor, with the expectation of assuming the position of lead English Pastor with primary leadership responsibilities within the next five years as the current pastor transitions to retirement.
The Opportunity
God is doing something significant among second-generation Asian Americans in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Chinese Bible Church of College Park (CBC-CP) sits at the intersection of a thriving university community and a congregation of young adults and families hungry for deep discipleship and authentic community. We are seeking a second English Pastor to shepherd this community, develop its leaders, and help us become a thriving multi-generational ministry that reaches the next generation for Christ.
About Our Church
CBC-CP is a Bible-believing, non-denominational, elder-governed church with three congregations—Cantonese, Mandarin, and English—worshiping as one church family. Our mission is to glorify God by Exalting Christ, Edifying Believers, and Evangelizing the World. We have a vision of producing generations of Christ’s disciples from diverse cultural backgrounds who bring God’s blessings to the campus, community, and world. We seek to operate consistently with our core values (for details on our beliefs, mission, vision, and core values visit www.cbccp.org/about and see the qualifications section below). We are theologically evangelical and conservative with a high view of Scripture, complementarian convictions, and practice of believer’s baptism and expository preaching.
Our English congregation has a Sunday attendance of 120–150 with approximately 100 members. Our community is primarily students, young adults, young couples, and second-generation believers.
