Pastor

Pastor’s Job Description:

1. The Pastor will minister as the spiritual leader of the First Christian Church of Kittery Point.
2. The Pastor will teach one Bible study during the week and lead worship service including delivering a sermon during the scheduled Sunday church services and for special holiday services (e.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Easter sunrise).
3. The Pastor will be an advisor to the Board of Elders, the Board of Trustees, and to other church offices and staff and attend administrative meetings as requested.
4. The Pastor will conduct weddings and funerals, and working with the Board of Deacons/Deaconesses will provide Christian social support to members of the Church through a visitation program for shut-ins and hospitalized members.
5. The Pastor will foster evangelism by reaching out to the unchurched and to Christians seeking to be closer to Jesus Christ by becoming part of a church that is guided by teachings of the Holy Bible.
6. The Pastor will maintain liaison with pastors from other Christian churches in our community and will maintain a positive working relationship with the national or international Christian support organization with which First Christian Church is associated (i.e. 4Cs).
