Children’s Ministry Pastor

Summary
The role of the Children’s Ministry (CM) Pastor is to engage with the families and children of Graceway Presbyterian Church (“GPC”) by nurturing an environment where the children can experience the love and grace of God and come to place their trust in Jesus Christ.
The CM Pastor will oversee all GPC ministries related to children age 6 months to 5th grade:

• Nursery (age 6 months to 2 years old)
• PreK (age 2 through age 4/pre-K)
• Elementary (K through 5th)

In addition to leading the Children’s Ministry, the CM Pastor will be part of the Graceway pastoral staff and will be expected to support the mission and programs of the church.
The CM Pastor will be accountable to the Graceway Session and will report to the Director of Education.

Qualifications
The required qualifications are:

• Baptized and has made a personal decision to be an ongoing disciple of Jesus Christ
• Support GPC’s mission and values (https://www.gracewaypc.org/what-we-believe)
• Committed to Reformed Theology
• Maintain a clear background check
• M. Div degree is a plus

Responsibilities
The following are the responsibilities of the position:

• Commit to pray, love, and support all Graceway children and their parents.
• Strive to build positive, healthy, and affirming relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.
• Communicate with parents in ways that encourage partnership and involvement.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and encourage volunteer leadership in CM.
• Implement the curriculum for the CM children which encourages the students toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Lead weekly Sunday CM worship including weekly Sunday preaching.
• Participate in pastoral staff meetings and Session meetings as scheduled, providing ministry updates.
• Support special events such as the Graceway annual retreat, annual VBS and Christmas/Easter presentations and coordinate relevant CM based activities during those church events.
