About This Organization
Kenwood Baptist Church traces its roots to 1908, when a small group of believers gathered in Cincinnati with a commitment to pass their faith on to the next generation. More than 115 years later, that commitment still defines the church. Located in a suburban neighborhood about 12 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, Kenwood has grown into a congregation of 400+ weekly worshipers representing extraordinary ethnic and generational diversity — 24 languages are spoken within the church family, and senior saints who have called Kenwood home for 70+ years now worship alongside dozens of families who have joined just in the last three years.

Four years ago, the church completed a significant sanctuary renovation and added a new atrium entrance, signaling both its investment in its future and its continued momentum. The congregation is elder-governed and pastor-led, with a staff team that operates with strong relational trust and a shared culture of learning. A final phase of building expansion is still ahead — including a new sanctuary — and the next Worship Pastor will have a meaningful hand in shaping that space.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead weekly Sunday worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and pastoral team.
• Recruit, develop, and shepherd volunteer musicians, vocalists, and worship team members across multiple rotating teams.
• Oversee all rehearsals, ensuring they are well-organized, efficient, and respectful of volunteers’ time.
• Utilize Planning Center Online (PCO) and Ableton Live (or comparable tools) for scheduling, chart production, and service planning and resources.
• Collaborate with the pastoral staff to ensure worship services are integrated with the preaching calendar and overall ministry vision.
• Introduce creative variety into worship while maintaining congregational accessibility.
• Participate as a full member of the pastoral team, including staff meetings, pastoral care responsibilities, and contribution to the broader life of the church.
• Play an active role in the design and planning process for the future sanctuary expansion.

Key Qualifications

• Seminary degree strongly preferred; demonstrated theological formation is essential.
• Minimum 5 years of worship ministry experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Proven track record leading and developing worship teams in an established church context.
• Strong musicianship — proficiency on a primary instrument or voice; ability to lead in a musically sophisticated environment.
• Proficiency with Ableton Live or comparable DAW for click tracks, charts, and rehearsal management; general AVL familiarity.
• Demonstrated administrative and organizational ability — planning, scheduling, and coordinating volunteers with reliability and follow-through.
• Strong relational and pastoral instincts — ability to shepherd people on the platform and in the congregation.
• Genuine alignment with Kenwood’s mission, theological center, and multi-ethnic, multi-generational culture.
