Group Leader
: Children's Ministry, Summer Program, After-School
Kids’ Place is an after-school and summer program serving children ages 5 through 14. We are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and are proud to be a Christian, faith-based program committed to nurturing both the hearts and minds of the children we serve.
Our summer program runs for 7 weeks, with each week centered around a fun, exciting, and enriching theme filled with engaging activities.
We are seeking individuals who:
- Have a heart for working with children
- Actively practices the Christian faith and demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Have a desire to share the Gospel and invest in young lives

Group Leader Requirements for Hire:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 months experience working with school age children
- If no Bachelor’s degree is held, a high school diploma plus 6 months experience working with school-age children will be required including 3 months of supervised experience in a school- age child care program.
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Able to handle crisis situations
- Knowledge of the Christian faith
Reports to: Site Coordinator and Director
General Function: Group Leaders are responsible for providing a warm and nurturing environment, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and supervising children and assistant staff.
Responsibilities:
- Works with other staff and volunteers as part of the program team.
- Maintain the safety and well-being of children in the program at all times including transition times.
- Accountable for children at all times and keeps track of attendance.
- Supervises and manages children’s behavior and interacts with children in both small and large group settings.
- Supervises assistant teachers and volunteers.
- Plans and implements age-appropriate and enriching activities for children in the program (clubs).
- Submits lesson plans, lists of needed supplies, and any other documents requested by Site Coordinator or Director in a timely manner (clubs).
- Informs Site Coordinator or Director of issues regarding (but not limited to) behavior, child development/well-being, and parent comments.
- Helps with daily set-up of activities, supplies, and program site as requested and as needed.
- Helps with daily clean-up of the program site as requested and as needed.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
