Church Planting

This is a Full-Time LOCAL position.

Role Summary:

The Local Multiplier in Specialized Church Planting has a deep, personal connection to a specific group. They might have grown up in a particular faith or country, share a similar life story or mindset, or come from that community’s language and culture. Their own journey with Jesus could be tied to experiences like recovery from addiction, life in the arts, or immigration struggles. In some way, they are an “insider” who understands this group’s needs and how they uniquely hear and respond to the good news of Jesus.

Typical Areas of Focus:

  • Identify and build trusting relationships within specific, specialized communities, and develop an intentional strategy to plant churches in that context.
  • Develop and implement a contextualized ministry strategy (e.g., hospitality, apologetics, community outreach, small groups, leadership training) that fits personal gifts and the needs of unique communities, with the goal of establishing healthy local churches.
  • Provide leadership for key aspects of church life (e.g., weekly worship gatherings, pastoral care, youth ministry, outreach), cultivating a spiritually vibrant and welcoming environment.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and ministry leaders, building a supportive, well‑equipped, mission‑driven team.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local community organizations, churches, and support networks to advance Missions Door’s vision and expand specialized church‑planting efforts.
  • Regularly evaluate fruitfulness (e.g., stories of transformation, partnerships formed, leaders equipped, ministries launched) and adjust strategy for greater long‑term impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Calling: A clear, sustained burden from the Lord’s church and a specific vision for long‑term ministry among a specific context.
  • Capacity: A proven track record of fruitful ministry.
  • Character: A life above reproach, spiritually mature, rooted in Scripture and prayer, with strong affirmation from your pastor and references.
  • Competency: A self‑starter and strategic thinker who can design, implement, and evaluate ministry initiatives with minimal hand‑holding.
  • Influence: Respected within your church and among a specialized community you serve; able to build trust and mobilize others.
  • Team Heart: A desire to partner with Missions Door and local churches, valuing shared vision over personal platform.
