Family Ministry Director

Director of Family Ministry 

Purpose:

The Director of Family Ministry provides leadership to the church’s ministry to children, students, and families. Their primary responsibility is to equip parents to disciple their children, oversee age-appropriate discipleship ministries, and partner with church leaders to help the next generation know, love, and follow Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities:

• Family Care
  • Care for children, students, and their families.
  • Encourage and equip parents in their responsibility as disciplers of their children (Deut. 6:4–9; Eph. 6:4).
  • Build relationships with families through regular encouragement, connection, counsel, and prayer.
• Lead Family Ministries
• • Provide vision, oversight, and leadership for ministries from birth through high school.
  • Ensure all teaching is biblically faithful and consistent with the church’s doctrinal convictions.
  • Build out a spiritual growth pathway for children and students consistent with the church’s strategy.
  • Build age-appropriate outreach into all levels of the family ministry.
  • Serve as the primary content provider for the weekly youth meeting.
• Develop Leaders
• • Recruit, train, and care for volunteer leaders.
  • Encourage healthy teamwork among ministry volunteers.
  • Foster a culture of disciple-making and service.
• Partner with the Church
• • Work closely with the pastor, elders, staff, and ministry leaders to advance the mission of the church.
  • Participate in preaching, teaching, worship services, and pastoral duties as requested.
  • Assist with other responsibilities (weddings, funerals, etc.) as appropriate.
  • Comply with all processes and protocols, aiding the church’s desire to be above reproach in all areas.

Qualifications:

• Meets the biblical qualifications for leadership found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Acts 6:1-7.
• Demonstrates a growing love for Christ, His Word, His Church, and the gospel.
• Affirms the church’s statement of faith and philosophy of ministry.
• Gifted in teaching, leadership, and disciple-making.
• Able to lead teams, develop volunteers, and communicate effectively.

Accountability:

• The Director of Family Ministry serves under the leadership of the Senior Pastor.
