Worship Director

Purpose:

The Worship Director is responsible for leading Christ-centered, biblically faithful worship that supports the mission of the church and encourages the congregation to worship in spirit and truth. This individual will cultivate a worship environment that honors both historical and modern worship music while leading from a posture of humility, excellence, and service.

Responsibilities: Within 10-15 hours weekly, this position will be responsible for –

• Worship Planning
• • Plan weekly worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.
  • Select biblically faithful songs to complement the sermon and engage all generations in worship.
  • Organize special music for holidays and church events as needed.
• Worship Leadership
• • Lead congregational singing each Sunday.
  • Lead rehearsals for the worship team.
  • Recruit, develop, schedule, and encourage volunteer musicians and vocalists.
  • Maintain a culture of excellence while fostering a welcoming environment for volunteers.
• Musical Responsibilities
• • Sing confidently and lead musically from a posture of humility and worship
  • Be proficient on at least one instrument (piano or guitar).
  • Arrange music appropriate for volunteer musicians of varying skill levels.
• Technology Responsibilities
• • Use Planning Center Services to schedule volunteers, organize worship plans, upload charts and recordings and communicate with team members.
  • Use ProPresenter to build weekly presentations, organize song lyrics, manage service flow, and coordinate with projection volunteers.
  • Basic knowledge of livestream and audio systems

Qualifications:

• Meets the qualifications for leadership found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Acts 6:1-7.
• Demonstrates a growing love for Christ, His Word, His Church, and the gospel.
• Affirms the church’s statement of faith and philosophy of ministry.
• Able to work with staff, lead teams, develop volunteers, and communicate effectively.
• Strong vocal ability, proficiency in guitar or piano, basic understanding of sound systems, and working knowledge of Planning Center and ProPresenter.

Accountability:

• The Worship Director serves under the leadership of the Senior Pastor.
