About Us

Paradigm Biblical Counseling (https://www.paradigmbiblicalcounseling.com/) offers Christ centered counseling to individuals, families, and ministry leaders in the Providence metro region. We aim to come alongside, not replace churches in the care of their members. As such, we also aim to equip church leaders and lay members on how to counsel one another biblically.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a client case load of a minimum of 5 hours a week.
• Sessions are done online or in person at one of our offices in the Providence metro region.
• Participate in staff meetings with other counselors 1-2 x’s a month.
• Discuss cases as needed and report directly to executive director.
• With permission, coordinate care and progress with a client’s church, medical team, and other relevant individuals.
• Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Commitment to a biblical counseling approach to counseling
• Membership in a gospel preaching local church
• Master’s degree in biblical counseling
• Or a master’s degree from a seminary that believes the bible to be the inerrant, inspired, and infallible word of God and biblical counseling training from ministries such as CCEF, ABC, ACBC, or a similar organization
• Or a master’s degree/licensure in counseling and biblical counseling training from ministries such as CCEF, ABC, ACBC, or a similar organization
• Extensive experience in biblical counseling may substitute for education qualifications
• Able to articulate how biblical counseling overlaps and differs from other ministries such as discipleship, advice, and pastoral shepherding
• Able to articulate how biblical counseling overlaps and differs from secular counseling
