Job Overview
Winthrop Street Baptist Church of Taunton, Massachusetts is prayerfully pursuing a worship leader to serve the church part-time. The primary responsibility of this position would be to lead the church’s corporate musical worship. The ideal candidate for this position is a man that has deep love for Jesus and a strong theological foundation.
Winthrop Street Baptist Church (WSBC) is a growing church seeking to find a long-term leader to teach, model and train a congregation to worship the Lord their God. We are a joyful church that loves the Lord and wants to find a worship leader to match our DNA as a congregation.
Taunton, Massachusetts is a suburban community about 35 miles from Boston, MA, 20 miles from Providence, RI and 25 miles from Plymouth, MA. It is a city of about 60,000 people and WSBC is the only gospel-centered and Reformed church in the city. The need for workers to join in this area is great and the opportunities for making Christ known in Taunton is tremendous.
Responsibilities
- Model and teach a gospel-centered understanding of corporate worship.
- Plan and lead our worship team during our gatherings, incorporating Scripture readings, confessing sin, assurances of salvation, and theological affirmations from church history.
- Support and lead audio and visual volunteers as they serve in support of the corporate worship of the church.
Qualifications
- A mature Christian faith and character that has a growing relationship with the Lord.
- Commitment to the theological and philosophical convictions of WSBC.
- High regard for Scripture and the importance of theology in the worship of the church.
- Experience leading musical worship.
- Proficient musician with vocal, instrumental and technical skill.
- Proven team leadership and management ability.
- A good communicator with an attitude of joy, humility, and clarity.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Job Expectations
- Become a member at Winthrop Street Baptist Church.
- Serve, support, and effectively communicate with our Worship Team.
- Seven hours a week, which includes four hours on Sunday, for sound check and corporate worship. Three hours per week for team communication, personal practice and on
- Wednesday for worship team rehearsal.
- Weekly check in with the Senior Pastor for choosing songs and review of our weekly worship gathering.
- Manage the annual assigned budget.
- Discover and develop those in the congregation who desire to serve on the Worship Team.
- Attend staff events as able.
- Four paid Sundays off a year.
