Principle Function:
The Director of Music is responsible for leading and overseeing the various aspects of NBC’s worship activities in accordance with the leadership of the Elders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the NBC Worship Team administratively by being responsible for the scheduling of stage volunteers and the selection of music each week.
- Serve as the primary “Worship Leader” most Sundays while providing opportunity for and actively training other volunteers to lead on occasion.
- Interact with the Elders towards the implementation of new congregational songs.
- Ensure music selections are reported to the office in time for inclusion in weekly bulletins.
- Establish and implement a comprehensive plan to grow NBC’s musical efforts and abilities.
- Oversee and Maintain all NBC property used for worship including instruments, hymn books, bibles, etc.
- Work with the AV team to ensure sound equipment is maintained and ready for use each Sunday.
- Prepare, submit, and maintain an annual Worship Team Budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Beliefs: A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that aligns with biblical servanthood.
- Musical Proficiency: Strong vocal ability and the skill to lead worship while playing an instrument (Acoustic Guitar or Piano preferred).
- Theological Alignment: Willing to work within the framework of the church. We are Elder-led, reformed leaning, and adhere to the BF&M 2000.
- Missiological Alignment: We do ministry in a region that is politically and denominationally diverse. Serving in our context will require a missionary’s heart and patience.
