Children’s Ministry Leader
The Part-Time Children’s Ministry Leader provides spiritual, organizational, and relational leadership for the children’s ministry (1st – 6th graders) at Southern Korean Presbyterian Church. This role supports families in the children’s faithful learning and development following Biblical Scripture, theology, and Christ-centered teachings, while working collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Spiritual Leadership:
- Lead children 1st – 6th grade in Christ-centered discipleship, theology, and education.
- Ensure all teaching aligns with Scripture, theology, and age appropriate.
- Pray regularly for our children (currently 12-18) and lead them spiritually.
Program Planning & Oversight:
- Plan, organize, and oversee children’s ministry programs including:
- Sunday School / Children’s Church
- Vacation Bible School (VBS) – Annual event/Planning/Training/Executing
- Midweek programs – Friday Nights (2 times per month) – activity based
- Special events (family nights, seasonal programs, outreach events, talent market, etc.)
- Monthly “The Bridge” article.
- We have a curriculum subscription to use, that is biblically sound and age proper.
- Participate in church-wide events as time allows.
- Funding is available for the Children’s Ministry.
Qualifications:
- A professing Christian who affirms Christ-centered doctrinal standards and teaching.
- Experience and passionate with working with children and a church/ministry setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead volunteers and work collaboratively with staff and elders.
