Summary: We are seeking a man who is called by God who will be a faithful and skilled pastor, preacher, and teacher of the Word of God, according to reformed tradition. Devoted to the ministry of Christ, our next pastor will be well suited to administer the Sacraments and lead with the heart of a shepherd.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Meets minimum requirements outlined in Chapter 9 of the ARP Form of Government.
  • Preaches exegetically and invites the Holy Spirit in teaching.
  • Demonstrates the qualities of an elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.

Priorities in Role:

  • Stay true solely to Biblical Scriptures.
  • Be willing to visit the sick, hospitalized and people who are shut in at home.
  • Work to promote growth of church and attract younger families with children.
  • Teach, equip, and encourage the church to discipleship.
  • Be caring, compassionate, and a good communicator.
  • Is an organized and prepared leader.

Desired Strengths and Characteristics:

  • Ability to relate to people of all ages.
  • Has a gift for making sermons relatable through life applications.
  • Humble leader who encourages consistent application of rules and accepted processes.
  • A good listener.
  • Willing to share ministry and strives to “equip the saints” through mentoring and providing opportunities for others to use and develop their spiritual gifts.
  • Is self-aware of limitations and personal capacity to serve. Displays humility and willingness to ask for help, while recognizing the spiritual gifts of the congregants.
  • Seeks to promote peace and purity in the church and is willing to exercise church discipline to that end.
  • Is willing to address the issues that keep members from attending and regular attendees from becoming members- teaches the relevance and benefits of church membership and participation.
  • High capacity for the complexity and sensitivity of relationships.

Professional Qualifications

  • Able to be ordained in the ARPC
  • Master of Divinity

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead staff, session, and congregation in advancing our vision and mission.
  • Glorify God through reformed, exegetical, and Biblical preaching and teaching.
  • Shepherding the congregation by loving and caring for the senior saints to the youngest.
